Due to the safety considerations, Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang (Penang City Council) has cancelled our booking of meeting room.

Therefore after discussing with our Society's Auctioneer Mr. Lim, I hereby announce that the 2nd July meeting is cancelled and Auction No. 95 is also temporarily postponed.

Members please keep your Auction list No. 95 as we shall arrange the Auction No. 95 in a new date and venue.   We shall announce it in this group as well as FB and Society blog.

It is addressed to Conrad Fry of Fry's chocolate.

Fry of Fry's chocolate had been renamed several times and we are been told that the chocolate company had been promoting stamp collecting among youth in the 40's by inserting stamps or picture of different country and allow consumer to collect and identity them. We are proud to have a senior member who was the winner of the identity contest when he was 9 and he got free supply of Fryof Fry's chocolate for life, but the company does not exist today after merge with larger firm.

1953 QE2 coronation FDC Complete 11 States of Malaya plus  Singapore, total 12 covers, all addressed to Minkus publciations, USA. Superb collection and hardly seen. Covers are in very good condition without toning spots.

Lot 81

Malaysia 1965 Orchids Definitives FDCs COMPLETE 13 states, all cancelled in respective states and covers are in very good condfition in general. (note: 6 covers are sent registered; few without pamphlets; For the Sabah cover has 2 small piece of white paper sticked on front side of cover edges about 1mm-sq in size otherwise perfect). ISC Catalogue RM600. Reserve Price RM480.

Lot 99 2017 Chung Ling 100 years - souvenir cover set x 4, prepared by school's board, 3 covers with complete set of stamps (set of 3 on every cover), and last cover with MS on cover. All covers neatly cancelled with special postmarks. Cost price about RM22. Low start. More on Facebook

New Issue

Date of issue: 16 March 2017

First Sunday of the month as usual, we'll have our monthly gathering/meeting. The gathering always starts off with the get-together session where members share, exchange, buy and sell their collection. If you miss today's gathering, mark the first Sunday of every month on your calendar, unless it is announced that the gathering is canceled or postpone. It is a fun activity, as you may learn something new. We got few elder members, they are very knowledgeable on philately and history of course. Some picture old postcard is verified by them, as some of the view or building printed on the old postcard can't be found today.
